Paltrow testified Friday about the details of the accident, which occurred on Feb.26, 2016. The Academy Award-winner and Goop CEO said that the accident allegedly happened at the top of a run called Bandana at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Utah. In the original court documents Sanderson filed, which CNN was able to obtain in 2019, Sanderson claimed that Paltrow had “skied out of control” while skiing at Deer Valley Resort, “knocking him down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, as well as four broken ribs and other serious injuries.”
Paltrow is being sued by Terry Sanderson, who claims that in 2016 while the two were snowboarding at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, she carelessly collided with him.
On Friday, Mr. Sanderson’s attorneys grilled Ms. Paltrow about why she did not personally check on him. She claimed that because of the collision, she couldn’t check on Mr. Sanderson herself, but her ski teacher had done so. She claimed that Mr. Sanderson had murmured that he was fine. I cannot be held accountable for anything that occurred to him after the mishap because I did not cause it, Ms. Paltrow said.
According to the lawyers for Mr. Sanderson, the expense of the day’s skiing, which included instruction for her, her future husband, Brad Falchuk, and four kids, was over $9,000.
Attorneys for Ms. Paltrow contend that Mr. Sanderson caused the crash and that he was suffering from a number of medical issues prior to it, including vision and hearing loss from a stroke, an excessive buildup of fluid in the head, and sporadic melancholy.
